ABOUT AMANDA
HI, my name is Amanda Haskins.
I’m passionate about Insurance, and the peace of mind that comes from good advice.
At a crucial stage in my life, a family tragedy reinforced the incredible importance of having the right life insurance cover in place, and the difference Insurance can make when the worst happens, find out more about my Story Below; My passion was truly born from experience.
During the course of a successful career in the finance industry, both in New Zealand & Internationally, I became even further aware of the value of great advice.
I have found that so many people are poorly insured, or have taken Insurance out without the proper advice and are paying too much for inadequate cover.
During the period from 2011 to 2018, I was awarded the Top Insurance Advisor award for the South Island for the NZ Financial Services Group. In 2023 I have been selected as one of 10 insurance advisers nationwide, to represent the industry on the Fidelity life Adviser Council. I am a fully licensed and qualified professional advisor.
I can advise you on life insurance, income or mortgage protection, health insurance, and serious illness cover. And I pride myself on my approachability, friendliness, and the overall consultative process that I bring to the table.
MY STORY...
I am originally from the Bay of Plenty.
My father was a school teacher and my mother was a rural school dental Nurse and we grew up living in remote areas around the Central North Island.
When I was 16, my father was tragically killed in a car accident.
In the weeks leading up to this event, my parents were weighing up the cost of their life insurance as they were having to find ways to reduce costs with four teenagers!
As a result of having this life insurance policy, my mother was in a position to pay off the mortgage on our family home and my younger sisters were able to finish their education – life would have been very different without it.
So, from a relatively young age I have always believed in the major importance of both having insurance in place and making sure it is affordable so that it is there when it’s most needed.
Of course, these days there is far more than just life insurance – it’s a dynamic and evolving industry and one that I love working in.
Over the past years I have been privileged to see first- hand how much of a difference the right Insurance cover can make when it matters.
I love nothing more than helping people achieve peace of mind by making sure they have the right protection in place at the best possible price.
